Greece, day 3

Today’s adventure involved all of the great elements: sea, sun, rain, mountains and gods. We started off in Thessaloniki to meet Katerina, who had a work meeting there. Part of our adventure involved walking along the sea where AJ and Ermis scampered around and collected as many rocks to chuck into the ocean as possible. […]

Greece, day 2

Yesterday we drove to the museum of Aigai in Vergina, which contains four burial mounds — including the father of Alexander the Great (Phillip II) and his son, Alexander IV. Apparently, no one is yet quite sure where Alexander himself is buried — the historical texts have conflicting information and much digging has not yet revealed him. (I say […]

Greece, day 1

Greetings all — we survived our flights to Greece! There was a tad more drama than we would have liked, with lost seat assignments and unsympathetic German gate agents (“well, hopefully someone will be willing to switch seats with you. There’s nothing we can do,”) but everything turned out just fine. AJ enjoyed watching Frozen […]

Success!

Nah. Not tired. Although an “overnight” sleep of 3 1/2 hours is prob not going to cut it (note he looks just a tad tired in the second photo). Now 3 1/2 hrs in the Frankfurt airport, then on to Thessaloniki… where I’m sure we won’t be even a bit tired. Ha!

Faces On A Plane

One flight down, two to go. At the moment we don’t have seats together on the flight to Germany. That works for me, but maybe not for the person so much for the person sitting next to him though…

Tahoe trip 2010

We once again headed to Truckee (and Reno) to visit with our Bay Area (and Idaho) pals. Photos are in the gallery, and here’s what Jackson saw out the window of the 777 he and I were riding to San Francisco:

May Madness whereby Action Jackson visits 3 cities and is loved by all

As you probably have noticed, we haven’t posted anything for awhile. There’s a good explanation for this: May kicked our asses. From May 4 to May 16th, I was in NYC for the 17th meeting of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development: my first time away from the boy. And yes, it was hard, but […]

Action Jackson: California dreaming? No California Reality

We did it! Instead of taking the boy out of the country to see new things, we took him to the other coast, the West Coast, or the Left Coast as those too kewl for skool sometimes call it. We had a great trip – we saw lots of our friends in the Bay Area, […]

Action Jackson the Super Traveler: our trip to Colombia

We had many firsts this last week: Jackson got his first passport stamp, in Colombia (if you don’t count in-utero, in which case he’s already also been to Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Italy and Germany), he went on his first plane ride, he attended his first wedding, he had his first babysitter, and he wore his […]

Welcome home

It’s a lot easier to find a parking place at half past midnight on Independence Day.
